A dazzling flamingo performer known throughout the Realm for her radiant stage presence, Fifi dances, sings and sparkles her way through nightclubs, festivals and the occasional royal celebration. Her feathers shimmer like sunset over warm water. Her laugh is contagious. And her entrances tend to cause several people to immediately forget what they were doing.

Which, as it turns out, is a skill.

Fifi does nothing by halves. Every feeling she has is enormous: feathers, footlights and feelings visible from space.

The Most Glamorous Bird in the Realm

Fifi LaPlume is a performer through and through. Her shows are legendary for combining:

  • Hypnotic dance
  • Playful music
  • Feathers and rhinestones that catch every light
  • A stage presence that turns heads across entire rooms

But beneath the glamour there is something else about Fifi that surprises people. She is kind. Warm. And far wiser than her playful persona sometimes suggests.

Which is exactly why many visitors leave her shows feeling slightly happier than when they arrived.

The Night She Met Hemi te Moa

Not long ago, during one particularly lively performance, something unexpected happened. From the edge of the crowd appeared a towering figure. Black feathers. A ceremonial cloak. A carved taiaha spear resting proudly at his side.

It was Hemi te Moa, the last wandering warrior of an ancient lineage. Hemi had crossed forests, valleys and rivers searching for the legendary Maiden of Ngā Manu (the Bird Tribe), a figure whispered about in old stories, said to hold the sacred knowledge needed to restore his people.

And when he saw Fifi on stage, he stopped moving entirely. To Hemi, radiant in lights and feathers, she looked suspiciously like a prophecy walking in heels.

When he finally found his voice, his first words were: "I will, I will stare respectfully from six feet away."

Hemi now quietly suspects that Fifi LaPlume might be the Maiden of Legend he has been searching for. The idea has only grown stronger after witnessing her presence, confidence and undeniable grace.

After all, prophecies rarely arrive politely. They usually arrive unexpectedly. Preferably during a dance number.

Fifi, however, has a slightly different interpretation of events. She is fairly certain she is not the mythical maiden of prophecy.

However, she has also noticed that Hemi is:

  • Carrying himself like a warrior from a story
  • In possession of the cutest accent in the whole Realm
  • Looking at her with the kind of awe usually reserved for moonlight

Which she finds quite charming.

So while she remains unconvinced about the prophecy, she hasn't exactly discouraged the young warrior either. After all, destiny is complicated. And sometimes it is perfectly fine to let a handsome hero wonder for a little while.
